We are currently operating two NHS England National Centres of Excellence, which provide specialist care and support for patients with rare and complex conditions, using the Gamma Knife platform specially designed to treat previously inoperable brain lesions.
Our London centre is located at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, the UK’s largest dedicated neurological and neurosurgical hospital. Our other centre is based in Sheffield working in close partnership with Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Gamma Knife is a non-invasive stereotactic radiosurgery
platform uses to treat previously inoperable brain lesions.
Gamma Knife uses up to 201 precisely-focused beams of radiation to control malignant and non-malignant tumours, as well as vascular and functional disorders in the brain, without harming surrounding healthy tissue.
Patients are typically in and out of the hospital in a day, and back to their normal routines soon after treatment.
We can treat: Metastatic Brain Tumours, Arteriovenous malformation, Trigeminal Neuralgia Cavernoma, Meningiomas, Acoustic Neuromas, Pituitary tumours and other brain tumours.
